Kessler Community Clinic, Inc. Serving the Copper basin area of North Georgia, Southeastern Tennessee and Western North Carolina
A non profit rural health clinic in the North Georgia Mountains
How we began
The dream began with Susan Greene, a gerontological nurse practitioner whose love of this rural area is only exceeded by her love of the elderly.  She received her Masters of Science Degree in Nursing from Emory University.  She has experience in large metropolitan health facilities as well as rural settings.  Susan worked  with Dr. Larry Tune at Wesley Woods Center of Aging at Emory University in geriatric psychiatry.   Susan has been an expert witness in elder rights cases throughout the United States.

Susan lectures for the Georgia Chapter/Alzheimer’s Association to both caregivers and health care professionals on dementia and the care of elderly patients.  She is also on the Nurse Practitioner Speaker's Bureau for Forest Pharmaceuticals, Inc.

Susan is an active member of the Elder Right's Council of the Coosa Valley Area Agency on Aging.  She is also a member of the Aging and Disability Reource Connection.

While working in Fannin County in 1995, Susan fell in love with the area and the people. It was then that she decided that she wanted to make a difference in this community.  A 501 (C) (3) Non-Profit Corporation was formed; a building was acquired and fundraising begun.  The goal is to be a clinic which provides quality, compassionate care at a reasonable cost to the people in our community, regardless of  ability to pay.  No one should be denied healthcare services.

Our motto is:
Healthcare is a right, not a privilege.
